The main image features a montage of characters to show the audience that there are different types of characters including different genders and ethnicities. It is made clear that bond if the main character as he is the largest and the most obvious character in the image. The main image also tells the audience that it is an action film as the characters are holding guns, in the background there are smaller characters who are clearly villains and the image shows a car on fire emphasising the action genre on the film. The women are in more revealing clothing than the men which suggests they are objectified and sexualised.
Colour Palette
The colours are dark which shows its relation to crime and spy themes but also feature brighter neon colours which connotes fiction. The characters are all wearing dark colours to show the audience that they are involved in crime or being undetected.
Typography
The no time to die title is in a serif font which has modern connotations like the film which is always up to date with latest technology and shows it is progressing through the time period as the older films often had a sans serif title. It is in bold to stand out to the audience. However, 007, is in a larger font which is more obvious as this is what the audience ,even if they are not a James Bond fan, can link with the franchise and automatically understand that this is a JB film and then understand what its conventions are.
Narrative
You can see the narrative as some characters have guns which shows an obvious action based plot with a fast pace. It also tells us that it is likely to have a fight between good and bad, Bond being the good as he is the largest character on the image. We can also see that James is the protagonist as he is the main focus of the image compared to the other characters featured in the image.
Genre
The fiction, action genre is made very clear in the image along with what is stereotypical for a 007 film. The bold but dark colours are often associated with action based films, as well the characters featured in the main image are holding guns and wearing dark colours.

Layout and Design:
The layout shows a montage of images to present to the audience the variety of characters in the film. James Bond is the largest of the images showing he is the protagonist, however, other characters like Safin and Nomi are also shown in the poster. This shows the reader that there is a large amount of characters, each one obviously different. This makes it more likely that the audience will be able to connect with one of the characters. As well as characters the montage features images of cars, cities with neon lights and mountains which portrays it action genre. The overall layout features many different aspects of the film which shows it is a fast paced, action packed and fits the conventions of a James Bond film.
Representation Context:
- Nomi was the new 007, which caused her to be trolled by racists online
- Madeline Swann is featured on the poster twice
- Only 3 guns in the poster so that violence is not glamorised
- Nomi is the first black 007 as well as the first female 007
- The hero (Bond) is a stereotypical representation of a hero, he is a attractive, tall, muscular white man as most hero's are.
- The genre is very stereotypically represented, it is clearly an action genre as you can see from them holding guns, neon lights, a car on fire and the serious facial expressions.
Representation of Gender
- Women: are not represented stereotypically, especially Nomi, who has a a full combat suit on and holding a gun. However, you can still see the conventions of women in a Bond film as Paloma is wearing a revealing outfit which sexualises her.
- Men: The men in the poster are represented stereotypically as Bond and Safin are very conventional heroes are villains. They both are very traditionally masculine and show little emotion. The are also both very formal and serious which is the stereotypical representation of men.

Representation context
Ethnic minorities:

70's Context:
- civil rights movements
- more towards racial and gender equality
MWTGG
Stereotypes:
Gender- stereotypical, women are objectified and the men all look serious and professional
Ethnicity- stereotypical, ethnic minorities look almost dangerous
Gender
Men- very serious and professional like that of the 70's men
Women- sexualised, objectified and not empowered even after the move towards equality
Ethnicity:
Ethnic minorities- combat outfits making them look dangerous, less representation of ethnic minorities,
odd job is used for comic relief, Asia is made to look more primitive
Issues and Events:
Energy crisis- explosion of power plant
Male gaze theory:
women are overly sexualised especially when put in the comparison of the men fully clothed in suits and the women in bikinis and revealing clothing
The representation of gender in the man with the golden gun poster is very stereotypical. The women are sexualised as they are shown in the image wearing bikinis in comparison the men are fully clothed in professional suits. This relates to the problems on gender equality at the time. This is made evident as the images of the men are bigger that the women showing that they have more power and authority than the women. This contrasts the spy cover where the women are shown as equal to the men as there are two men and two women. The woman seems to have more power as she is central in the image and is stood infront of the men. However, she is still sexualised as she has her hair and make up done and is wearing a short skirt.
